Greenhill Falls, South Rawdon, Nova Scotia

GPS : 45.024641, -63.866722

A 3km round trip hike will bring you to 5 waterfalls along this brook. The last one being the largest, standing at approx 50ft in height. The walk is downstream on a human trafficked path walking on tree roots, mud/dirt, and rocks/gravel. Each fall is different in height and angle it falls. The first you encounter is a 10ft, 90 degree angle plunge. The next three are approx 15-20ft sliders, declining at approx 45 degrees. The last fall has a combination of plunge and slider. The top 20ft fall falls at approx 90 degrees plunging down into the bottom 25ft slider declining at approx 70 degrees. Creating a 50ft fall.

Important Information – They’re 5 waterfalls to visit on this brook. The first 4 are easily accessible to see from the trail and getting down their base. The last fall is visible from the trail high above the ravine on the ridge. If you wish to get down to its base I suggest walking further downstream to find an easier access to the brook below than walk upstream along the brook. It is possible to reach the base of the falls on the left-hand side of the brook if facing downstream from the ridge above. This is a 100ft climb down at approx 50 degrees on loose rocks, moss, and dead fall. Do so are your own discretion. None of the falls offer you a chance to swim or jump. To reach all the falls you will walk 1.5kms downstream. It is a 3km walk round trip. The trail is easily identifiable on the right-hand side of the brook when facing downstream for most of the trek. Near the last fall it will switch over to the left hand side of the brook when facing downstream. The trailhead is unmarked but it is in a small clearing on the shoulder of the road just before the bridge that crosses the brook on the right hand side of the road. Park at 45.015055, -63.858917 and head downstream to the falls.
