Bailey Brook Falls, Ashdale, Nova Scotia

Bailey Brook Falls are located just off Ashdale Rd in Hants County. This short walk with some bushwhacking will bring you to a 25ft waterfall, falling at an angle of approx 70 degrees. The trek to the bottom is challenging but worth it.

Important Information – This waterfall is located along Ashdale Rd just beyond the end of an old gravel road. You will find this old gravel road at (45.010678, -63.909121) around civic address 876. The waterfall does not provide you the opportunity to swim or jump. It is a little tricky to reach the fall and its base. The trail itself is 1.2kms round trip. The old gravel road goes for about 400ms before ending and the 200m bushwhack begins to reach the fall. The trail is flat the whole way minus the last 15ms down  to the base of the fall.

Directions – The waterfall is located in Ashdale, Nova Scotia. If you are heading from Halifax you will want to drive towards the valley on Highway 101 (Harvest Highway) taking exit 3. At exit 3 you will turn right off the ramp and turn left at the next intersection bringing you onto Highway 1 (Evangeline Trail). Following Highway 1 all the way to Lakelands and turning right onto Highway 202. Continuing on highway 202 to Ashdale Rd on your left. Driving Ashdale Rd until you reach the old gravel road on your left. Following the gravel road to its conclusion and continuing straight as best you can until you reach a small pond 100ms from the old gravel roads end. The river is just beyond the pond, head downstream for 100ms to the falls.
