A short easy walk to a beautiful 25ft, 80-degree drop waterfall in West Gore. This waterfall is less than a kilometre walk from where you park round trip.
Important Information – The trail to this fall is an ATV trail before a human trafficked path. The ATV trail heads uphill on a small incline before turning left down the human trafficked path. Expect to walk on exposed roots, rocks, and mud/dirt. The total distance of your walk will be less than 1 kilometre. It is easily navigated due to the presence of green flagging tape. You will see this green flagging tape routes out the easiest way down to the river’s edge as you continue upstream. The waterfall does not have a pool at its base deep enough for a swim or any jumping.
Directions – If you are leaving from Halifax, NS you will want to take Highway 101 (Harvest Highway) towards the valley. Following until you reach Exit 3 (Upper Sackville) and turning off. At the end of the off-ramp, turn right and go to the set of lights. Turning left at the lights to begin following Highway 1 towards Lakelands. Once you reach Lakelands, turn right onto Highway 202. Following Highway 202 all the way to West Gore. Mines Rd is a sharp right turn off Highway 202 in West Gore. It is a gravel road and you will drive it for approx 800ms. Parking on the shoulder of the road just beyond where the river crosses. On your left when crossing the river you will see an ATV trail heading uphill. Take this ATV trail for approx 200ms and you will see an easily identifiable left turn which happens to be marked with green flagging tape. Follow this trail to the river edges then begin walking upstream for approx 100ms. This is a flat walk along the river’s edge.
