These falls are located roadside along Park Falls Rd. They are easily accessible and they are structured as a tiered plunge, which offers multiple drops. The falls are approx 5-10 in height each, with a total of 4 drops. The top 2 falls drop at an angle of 65 degrees, followed by a 90-degree drop. The last and smallest fall drops at an angle of approx 60 degrees. Each drop has its own respective pool.
Important Information – These falls do offer you somewhere to jump and swim but I advise you to jump with caution as serious injuries have happened in this location. Most of the pools throughout the set are small but the one at the bottom is large enough for multiple groups to enjoy. As mentioned above these falls are located right along Park Falls Rd. You will see multiple paths down to the river’s edge. Each path will bring you to a different spot. Some lead to the pools along the falls and others lead you down to the bottom pool. When turning onto Park Falls Rd from Thorburn Rd you will see these paths on the right-hand side of the road prior to crossing the bridge over the rivers and falls. The trails themselves are human trafficked trails so expect to walk on exposed tree roots, rocks, gravel, and dirt/mud. Each trail is less than 100m’s long.
Directions – If you are traveling from Halifax you will need to hop on the Highway towards Truro, which is Highway 102 (Veteran’s Memorial Highway). Once reaching Truro, you will take exit 15W onto Highway 104 (Trans Canada Highway) towards Cape Breton. Driving towards Cape Breton on Highway 104 until you reach exit 27. After taking this exit you will take the first right once you entered the roundabout onto Highway 4. Following Highway 4 until you reach Thorburn Rd on your right. Turning right onto Thorburn you will following this road until you Reach Park Falls Rd. The falls are down this road on your right.
