Indian falls are located within Lunenburg County and are part of Indian Falls Park. This is a single fall that is visible from the park’s gravel pathways but you can also venture down a small side path to the river’s edge. The falls are approx 10-15 feet high and have a deep pool at there base. This pool doesn’t rest as it continues the river downstream. The fall itself falls at approx 80 degrees into the river below.

Important Information – This fall allows you to swim and jump. You can’t jump from the falls themselves but approx 25 feet down the rivers edge on the right-hand side of the river if looking downstream there is a rock face prime for jumping. Look for it in the photo, a tree hangs over the edge of it in the top right. You can swim across the river easily to get over to the spot where you climb up to jump which is to the left of the jumping area (downstream). It is a small steep incline, approx 20 feet to the top and at an angle of approx 60 degrees. The park has signage present off of the main road when traveling to the park. You will turn onto the park’s main road and follow it until the end and park. The walk from the parking area to this fall is very short. A couple hundred meters to the general area of the park where you can view the falls from the side. From where you park you will walk straight into the park passed the outhouses slowly veering to your left along the gravel paths to the observation area. On the left-hand side as you approach the general observation area you will see a human trafficked path which leads you down to the river’s edge. This path is on dirt, loose rocks and tree roots so walk carefully. The path is short and doesn’t have a steep incline. You will walk on the path for approx 150 meters until you reach a wooden staircase on your right. Take these stairs down to the river’s edge. I would have to say approx 50 stairs. The river’s edge in this location has a small gravel area to lounge around and splash in the water just a short swim away from the falls.
Directions – This single fall is in Newburne, Nova Scotia. If traveling from Halifax you will head towards the South Shore on highway 103 (Fishermen’s Memorial Highway). Follow this Highway until you reach Exit 11. Take Exit 11 and turn right at the end of the off-ramp. Once you have turned onto Cornwall Rd from the off-ramp, follow Cornwall Rd until you reach Newburne Rd which will be on your right. Following Newburne Rd all the way to the parks entrance which will be on your left hand side. There is signage present for the park.
