This is a single fall located along the Bay of Fundy. The fall itself is approx 60 feet high. You can view this fall during high tide from approx 200ms away or during low tide. During low tide, you can walk right up to the fall. Depending on when you visit there might be a small pool located at the base of the falls. This pool is outlined by boulders creating a semi-circle. Within the pool, you may see a crab or two and a lot of snails mixed in with the seaweed. If you are blessed, you may see one even two rainbows present at the base of the falls over the pool. During low tide, you can explore all the area that is exposed. It goes for miles, you can view anything from rock outcrops to some caves carved into the rock face.
Important Information – This fall is located along the Bay of Fundy, the tide moves very quickly so if you plan to walk up to the fall do so at your own risk. The distance to the base of the fall is only 200ms but you are walking on an exposed sandstone beach, the sandstone’s come in all shapes and sizes so walk carefully. This is not a waterfall where you can swim and jump into a pool at the base of the falls. The terrain is rugged but it is flat. You enter the exposed beach directly from the parking lot along the water’s edge. The waterfall will be on your right, you can’t miss it.
Directions – The entrance to the exposed beach is off of Paddy Beach rd which is off of Baxters Harbour Rd. If traveling from Halifax you will head towards the valley on Highway 101 (Harvest Highway) until you take exit 13. Turning right at the top of exit 13 on Chester Ave. Follow Chester Ave (trunk 12) until you turn left onto Main St (trunk 1). Once on Main St turn right onto Highway 341 which will turn into Highway 359. Follow Highway 359 until you reach Brow of Mountain Rd on your right-hand side. The bottom of Mountain Rd turns into Baxters Harbour Rd. At the end of Baxters Harbour Rd, you will see Paddy Beach Rd on your right. At the end of Paddy Beach Rd, you will park and enter the exposed beach on your right.
