This is a set of 3 falls pending the season you attend. Falls in this area tend to dry up in late summer. Heading upriver, the first fall is approx 5-10 feet high, the second fall is approx 30-35 feet high. The third fall is approx 5-10 feet high. You can access the top of the second fall easily from the base. There is a rope tied to a tree on the left-hand side of the second fall. Use it at your own risk. In order to see the third fall, you have to climb up the left-hand side of the second fall or enter the set of 3 falls from a downstream access point. I am not familiar with this access point. I saw a small packed down path present though. The 3 falls are all angled down the rock face, none are straight down 90-degree drops. All 3 falls go down the rock face at about a 75-degree angle. The third fall falls into an approx 6 feet deep pool which is walled like a hallway with no ceiling about 6 feet above the water and 4 feet wide for about 15 feet. Enter this pool as your own risk.
Important Information – At these falls you cannot jump, or swim unless you decide to enter the small pool at the base of the third fall. The distance to get to these falls is very short. Approx 500m’s one way. The second fall is around the corner of the first fall to the left, the third fall is above the second fall. A small beaten down path is available on the left hand side of the river, it has major effects of weathering and erosion, use at your own risk. Alternative route is to walk in the water or along the edge of the river upstream. This is a short and easy walk for all ages and physical capabilities.
Directions: The entrance to the small path and rivers edge is off Prospect Rd. in front of Morris Crescent in Kentville, Nova Scotia. The trailhead is on the opposite side of Prospect Rd of Morris Crescent beside the guard rail. The side of Morris Crescent closest to exit 12. No marker or sign is present but you will see a path carved out through the vegetation. This location is in between exit 12 and 13 of highway 101(Harvest Highway).
